Secure more BREEAM credits at construction stage

When: Thursday 26 November 2026, 11:00 to 12:30 GMT
Many BREEAM credits depend on evidence collected on site during construction: waste data, energy and water readings and transport records. When that evidence is missing or cannot be verified at the post-construction stage, the credits are lost, however well the project performed.
This webinar will show what the projects that secure their construction-stage credits do differently. Jane Morning from BREEAM Science, a former BREEAM assessor, will explain what separates those projects from the ones that struggle, and why evidence gets rejected. Stuart Blofeld from SmartSite will compare current SmartWaste project data with the benchmarks behind BREEAM’s waste credits. Toby Harvell from VolkerFitzpatrick and Jonathan Ayton from Willmott Dixon will then share how their teams collect evidence during the build, and what they would do again on their next project.
What you will learn:
- What successful projects do differently, including clear ownership of data and regular reviews of performance
- Where projects most often lose Wst 01 and Man 03 credits, and why evidence gets rejected
- What good resource monitoring and evidence management look like across the construction phase
- How current project data compares with BREEAM’s waste benchmarks, plus new benchmarks for energy and water use per 100 m²
- What a SmartWaste report contains and how an assessor can check it
- How contractors capture waste data on site, including delivery notes at the site gate and automated waste tickets
Who should attend?
BREEAM assessors, contractor sustainability and environmental managers, and clients and developers who set BREEAM targets for their projects.
