Are we measuring resilience too late? BREEAM Infrastructure panel at ICE Resilient Transport 2026

When: Thursday 24 September 2026, 09:10 to 10:40 BST
Join BREEAM Infrastructure at ICE Resilient Transport 2026
BRE is sponsoring the inaugural ICE Resilient Transport Conference in Manchester and hosting a panel session on the morning of Day 2: Are we measuring resilience too late? What 20 years of infrastructure assessments tell us.
Chaired by Melanie Manton, Global Business Development Manager for BREEAM Infrastructure, the panel draws on two decades of infrastructure sustainability and resilience assessment through BREEAM Infrastructure (formerly CEEQUAL). Panellists will debate whether resilience is still addressed too late in the project lifecycle, how clients, designers, contractors and supply chains can embed it earlier in procurement and design, and the skills the next generation of infrastructure professionals will need.
Panellists:
- Ian Slesser, Deputy Director BPS Operations and Product, BRE
- Alistair Kean, Director for Sustainability, COWI
- Professor Perry Shard, Head of Quality, John Sisk & Son
- Grace McCormack, Senior Sustainability Consultant, Jacobs
